Palmyra American Legion Post’s S.A.L. member Jim Murray will be receiving an award this year at the 2016 Canandaigua VAVS (VA Volunteer Service) Awards Ceremony on April 13th. Jim will be receiving the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for having volunteered 4,000 (Yes, that is Four Thousand!) hours!! Thank You Jim!
It is official! The Ferris-Goodridge Post 330 at 691 Trimmer Road in Spencerport, NY will be sponsoring the Moving Wall at their post June 16th thru June 20th, 2016. Watch for further announcements.

Hickey Post #120’s Sons of the American Legion will again be hosting their Meat and Shrimp Raffle. Come and support this annual event. All proceeds gained from this event will be used to support the goals and projects of the Palmyra Post’s SAL.
Saturday, March 19, the Monroe Community College along with the American Red Cross is hosting a Brunch at the Flynn Campus Center (Parking Lot M) for Military Families, Veterans and Reservists. The Brunch, scheduled from 9:30 – noon on the 19th, is FREE to the public. They are inviting all to join them as they salute our local heroes!

Information and notice was provided that the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. NY #1 is hosting their 4th annual benefit run in memory of SFC Daniel T. Metcalfe who was KIA 28 Sept 2012. Registration begins June 4th at 0900 at the Moose Lodge, Route 31, Palmyra, NY (just east of the village). Kickstands up at 1100 hours. Donation is $25.00 per bike (& rider) with dinner.
