Communication is key to serving our Veterans
A Veterans Town Hall meeting will be held on February 9th beginning at 1:00 pm in Building 5, Auditorium of the Canandaigua VA Campus. This meeting will provide an opportunity for feedback from Veterans, Family Members, Stakeholders, Veteran Service Organization and Community Partners.
Listed on the agenda are updates regarding the Canandaigua VAMC, the recreation therapy program, an Adult Day Health Care Program, the Rochester Vet Center and Vietnam Veterans commemoration and the meeting will be open for feedback from Veterans, Family Members and other Beneficiaries.
Mark your calendars to attend this very important and, probably informative program.
After the meeting of the 12 Wayne County Posts of the American Legion on 12 January at the Palmyra, New York’s, James R. Hickey Post #120, a new avenue of communication was established. This allows for sharing of information such as the very important Operation Welcome Home coordinated by the Veterans Outreach Center. The contact person is Lisa Galletto, the Volunteer Coordinator. She can be reached at 585-295-7816. The website is printed below. If you have a family member who is returning from military service, whether overseas or stateside, or you are an official from a military unit and would like to request an organized greeting and presentation of the Operation Welcome Home Service Commendation, they’re here to help. Thanks to Commander Jerry Lamb of Ontario’s Meyers-Ingraham American Legion Post 428 for supplying the address.
Terry Leone, a long time SAL member, died suddenly on January 1st. The Post will miss his contributions as a person and as a businessman. Our condolences go out to his family in Palmyra. For more information, read his obituary found on the Murphy Funeral Home of Palmyra website.
