FreshConnect Checks Available for Veterans and Families
FreshConnect Checks For Veterans And Families
In collaboration with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, State Veterans Counselors with the New York State Division of Veterans’ Affairs are offering a limited number of FreshConnect checks to Veterans and their immediate family members, as well as un-remarried surviving spouses of Veterans.
Recipients can use FreshConnect checks for fresh produce and other food items at participating farmers markets throughout New York State.
State Veterans Counselors will distribute FreshConnect checks from their offices on a first-come, first-served basis for Veterans and their immediate family members (defined as family members living in the same household as a Veteran) and un-remarried surviving spouses of Veterans.
Each recipient gets a booklet of FreshConnect checks worth a total of $20 at participating farmers’ markets.
Only one booklet of checks per household. New York State employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to receive FreshConnect checks, regardless of Veteran status.
Recipients can use FreshConnect checks until the end of the farmer’s market season (November 30, 2014).
