Blue Star Family Honored When New Officer Sworn In.

On Wednesday, March 26, James R. Hickey Post 120 was represented at the swearing-in ceremony of  Brian Parkison as a new patrol officer of the Palmyra Police Department.  Brian is currently in the United States Air Force Reserves and has been deployed twice, once to Kuwait and once to Saudi Arabia.  Post Commander Ann Guest presented the Blue Star Flag to the family and read, to the audience in attendance, the significance of the Blue Star Flag, why it is offered and why the American Legion is proud and honored to be able to present the flag.  After the Mayor of Palmyra swore in the newest police officer, Brian’s family, friends and Post members offered him their congratulations and thanks for serving our nation and our community.  1st Vice Commander, Bob Coleman, of course, provided Brian with an application.
